Amber’s Home Closet Reveal

We finally made it!! It’s the final reveal from our home and it’s a real good one. It’s our closet reveal from each room of the house!! That’s right, I’m taking you into every closet of our home: mine, Mike’s, Gwynnie’s, our guest room, and our entryway.

This is the first time any of us Lewis’s have ever had real, big kid closets so we obviously had to do it right!! We partnered up with The Container Store Custom Closets to help us design these spaces because I wanted something very specific for every space. Once everyone in the fam chose which line we wanted for each room, we worked directly with The Container Store’s design team to customize every inch of each closet. We told them what we had in our existing closets and how we wanted to hang or fold our pieces, and they came up with our storage solutions, right on the spot. It was such a quick and simple process, and the best part? I didn’t have to overthink any part of the process.

Without further ado, scroll on down to see the final results. I am so in love with how our closets turned out and I can never turn back!

Here it is, in all its glory… my closet!! I wanted something that was beautiful, traditional, and functional, so it was a no-brainer that I went with the Laren line. Like I said, I have never had a closet like this ever in my life, so it was a dream come true to have a perfect home for all my clothes, shoes, and accessories. I needed a whole lotta space for hanging (I have a little obsession for dresses and sweaters), a lotta shelf space for jeans (also obsessed), and shoes!! I didn’t have or want a big mega closet, and I was able to fit everything perfectly.

For the cabinets and drawers, I went with the Pure White finish in shaker style and paired it all with oil-rubbed bronze hardware. Like I said, I was going for a classic and traditional look and feel, and this line and my cabinet choices did exactly that.

Now, this is one real cool-looking closet for a real cool dude. Mike went with the Avera line, which has such a clean and sleek look. He chose the Dune finish, which is a matte woodgrain finish that matched perfectly with the oak in the rest of our home. It’s so clean that it’s almost hard to make this space messy, even if you tried! In terms of functionality, it was exactly what Mike wanted. He worked closely with The Container Store designer to design the perfect space, which meant: majority hanging space for his shirts, tees, and jeans, an exposed shoe shelf, and full-extension drawers that open with a touch.

gwyneth’s closet

Like mother, like daughter!! Gwyneth wanted her closet to look similar to mine, so she also chose the Laren line for her tweenage closet. We also wanted to design a space that she could grow into, so we decided on a mix of hanging (short and long), exposed shelving, and lots of drawers — a little bit of everything! One of the coolest little parts of her closet is the built-in laundry hamper, which let me tell ya, is a real treat when you have a messy tween!!! Like I mentioned with my closet, G’s space is also the Pure White finish shaker-style cabinets paired with oil-rubbed bronze hardware. Simple, clean, and beautiful.

guest room and entryway closets

Sturdy and functional was the name of the game here. That’s what led me to choose the Elfa Line for our guest room and entryway closets. We use these spaces for all the things and needed them to withstand the Lewis household — which is a lot! We needed all kinds of storage solutions in our guest room closet, and we designed to have a section for all our belongings like suitcases, extra blankets, jackets, you name it. And for our entryway, we kept it simple with space for long coats and top racks, which we use to store extra boxes with bits and bobs. I highly, highly recommend this line for any of your spaces that get a lot of usage, because like I said, it’s just about as sturdy and functional as it gets.
