A Guide to Anti-Racist Resources

We have had enough and our hearts are heavy. The racial injustices that the Black Community has endured is outrageous, and the sickening killings of so many innocent Black women and men are impossible to ignore. Admittedly we have not done enough in our lifetime. We will not pretend like we have, or that we know the best way forward in these monumental and historical moments in time. We have decided to take some form of action instead of simply sitting with sadness. We are making a commitment to not shy away from these uncomfortable discussions, and will devote as much time and energy as we can to learning and sharing information we receive. We are immersing ourselves in the incredible resources we’ve found, and it’s our tiny but mighty responsibility to share and amplify Black voices that have been overshadowed for too long. We recognize our duty to start actively using our platforms to implement longterm change and we are ready.

Now the question is, what are we DOING and what are we going to DO?

We will make ongoing donations to as many benefitting charities as we can, including Black Lives Matter , The Conscious Kid , and Campaign Zero to name a few.

We will use our social platforms to amplify Black voices.

We will continue to be inclusive in our workplace.

We will spotlight more Black business owners and creatives in our interviews.

We will educate ourselves, our children, and our friends.

We will VOTE.

We know you most likely only follow our platforms for interior design and business inspiration, but like we said the other day — these things can wait. Precious Black lives cannot. Change is not easy, but we are going to do everything we can to make real change in our little corner of the world. Change starts with us. Change starts with you. Join us in taking a stand, amplifying Black voices, and make a change.

Note: We will continue adding to the below list as we discover more.

Hi Amber! I would like to use a minority-owned design firm for an upcoming kitchen remodel in LA. I would love to see white folks from the design community posting lists of black and brown designers, architects, and contractors. Just an idea! Seems like a great way to use your platform and privilege to further inclusion! PS I love your work
