Recipe: Spicy Olive Mocktail

Cheers to the new year with this Spicy Olive Mocktail — your new favorite “dirty martini” (with a twist!) This non-alcoholic, spicy, savory-sweet mocktail is our favorite way to participate in a GNO or cozy night in without sacrificing those new year’s resolutions (dry Jan, anyone?!) Read on for the recipe. x

Spicy Olive Mocktail

Prep Time: 10 minutes
Total Time: 15 minutes
Serve: 1
INGREDIENTS:

1 oz olive brine

1 lemon

Sparkling water

1/2 cup sugar

1 cup water

1 jalapeño (sliced)

Tajin (for garnish)

Olives (for garnish)

Drizzle of olive oil

Instruction:
  1. Make the Jalepeño Simple Syrup. Add the sugar, water, and jalapeño slices to a saucepan and bring to medium heat. Stir until sugar is dissolved and jalapeño is soft. Mash jalapeños to release their spice and reduce the heat to low and simmer for 8-10 minutes.
Allow to cool and double strain into an airtight container. Store in the fridge.
  2. Prep your Pour. Cut the lemon in half and use it to moisten the rim of your glass. Dip the lemony rim into Tajin until it sticks.
  3. Serve and enjoy! Pour ⅓ cup jalapeño simple syrup into a cocktail glass with ice. Add 1 oz. olive brine and the juice of 1 lemon. Top with sparkling water and a drizzle of olive oil. Garnish with olives or a twist of lemon peel. Cheers! xx
