Perfect for a movie night or sipping on a chilly winter morning, our classic Hot Chocolate is simple and absolutely delicious. Enjoy as-is or top with some Earl Gray Honey Whipped Cream. Yum! Read on for the recipe. x

Hot Chocolate

Prep Time: 10 minutes
Total Time: 15 minutes
Serve: 2
INGREDIENTS:

2 cups milk of choice

2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder

2 tablespoons sugar (or to taste)

2 ounces dark or semisweet chocolate, finely chopped

1/4 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Tiny pinch of salt

Instruction:
  1. Mix the Dry Ingredients.
In a small saucepan (off heat), whisk together the cocoa powder, sugar, and salt. This prevents lumps later.
  2. Add Milk & Warm.
Pour in about 2 tablespoons of the milk and whisk into a smooth paste. Then slowly whisk in the remaining milk. Heat over medium-low, stirring frequently, until hot but not boiling (you’ll see steam and tiny bubbles around the edge).
  3. Add the Chocolate.
Stir in the chopped chocolate and whisk until fully melted and silky. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Serve & Enjoy!
Pour into mugs and enjoy as-is, or top with lightly whipped cream or a few marshmallows.
