How To Style Your Bed For Spring

Looking to freshen up your bedroom for the warmer days ahead? Spring is the perfect excuse to switch things up— think light layers, subtle textures, and a soft color palette. We’re sharing simple layering tricks featuring the all-new (!!!) exclusive bedding collection at Shoppe. Read on to explore and shop. x

1. Find your Foundation

When choosing a rug for your bedroom, opt for a soft texture, grounding color palette, and subtle pattern that will compliment your bedding without overwhelming the space.

Tip: Place your rug 8-10 inches past the head of the bed and let a decent amount run past the foot of the bed for optimal placement.

2. Bring in the Furniture

Start with foundational pieces that anchor the entire room — this is what sets the tone for everything else. For spring, we love a thoughtful mix of soft lines and structure, pairing plush, upholstered elements with more grounded, sturdy materials.

3. Choose your Bedding Base

Linen sheets are spring’s best friend — lightweight, breathable, and perfectly lived-in. They keep things feeling cool and airy while still offering that cozy, relaxed look we’re all looking for this time of year.

Tip: Place your flat sheet seam-side down so when you fold it over, the finished side shows.

4. Layer, layer, layer!

We suggest layering the foot of the bed with blankets, duvets, and quilts of various patterns and textures. We include 2-3 layers at the foot of the bed, with the bottom layer being the thinnest. Add a patterned option in a color complimentary to the main quilt, a fluffy duvet to add volume, and a cozy throw to finish the look.

5. Pick your Pillows

Now it’s time to add the finishing touches with pretty pillows. We love choosing 2-3 busier pillows that compliment what you’ve already layered into the room, and then 1-2 smaller, more simple pillows for dimension. Try pairing gingham with muted florals and stripes with block printed patterns.
