Recipe: Collagen Coffee
We don’t know about you, but as soon as we wake up every morning, we’re headed straight to the kitchen for a cup of coffee. One of our favorite coffee concoctions right now is a little something a few of our team members started whipping up to get their mornings started — and trust us, we tried it and are obsessed. It’s packed with healthy ingredients (we’re on a serious collagen powder kick), a dash of sweetness, and an entire inch of froth. You might be asking, WTF is collagen powder? It’s said to improve skin, nails, hair and joints — and we swear, it’s making a difference for us. This is truly the perfect recipe for those mornings when you’re craving a little more luxurious, and best of all, it’s crazy easy to make. Give it a whirl and leave a comment if you make a cup of this over the weekend. TGIF!
Collagen Coffee
Coffee beans
1 scoop of collagen powder
1 dash of almond milk
1 tsp of ghee or coconut oil
A dash of stevia or honey
- Put the whole beans in a grinder and blend. It’s totally acceptable to use pre-ground beans, we just prefer grinding them ourselves for a super fresh taste. Boil water.
- Put a coffee filter in the dripper, and place the dripper over a mug.
- Scoop ~2 tbsp of the ground coffee into the filter and slowly pour water over the grounds. Pour just enough water to fill your mug. We like to add a dash of almond milk straight into the coffee at this step!
- Combine collagen powder, honey, milk (if not already added), ghee or coconut oil, and coffee in blender. Cover and blend on medium speed for 15 seconds.
- Pour blended coffee into mug. Add a dash of cinnamon on top (optional) and enjoy!
Recipe notes:
It’s okay if you don’t have a Vitamix or high-speed blender, you can pretty much achieve the same texture from a handheld frother. Also, the amount of almond milk and sweetner is completely up to you!
