Hot Chocolate

INGREDIENTS:
2 cups milk of choice
2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
2 tablespoons sugar (or to taste)
2 ounces dark or semisweet chocolate, finely chopped
1/4 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
Tiny pinch of salt
Instruction:
- Mix the Dry Ingredients.
In a small saucepan (off heat), whisk together the cocoa powder, sugar, and salt. This prevents lumps later. - Add Milk & Warm.
Pour in about 2 tablespoons of the milk and whisk into a smooth paste. Then slowly whisk in the remaining milk. Heat over medium-low, stirring frequently, until hot but not boiling (you’ll see steam and tiny bubbles around the edge). - Add the Chocolate.
Stir in the chopped chocolate and whisk until fully melted and silky. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract. - Serve & Enjoy!
Pour into mugs and enjoy as-is, or top with lightly whipped cream or a few marshmallows.
