Well folks, it’s here! I’m so happy to finally share more from Client Home Sweet Home. I fell in love with this place right away, and saw the potential of how it could work for my fam. While the ol’ gal had good bones, there was still a TON of work I wanted to do.
Over the last couple of years I’ve made this new space my own, creating memories here with G (plus George, Libby & Lou!) and hosting what felt like hundreds of photoshoots…Speaking of photoshoots, quite a few of these images are from the many I’ve hosted at my home, which is naturally full of Shoppe pieces. So keep your eye out because I’ll be including any and all linky links at the bottom of each section. A Shoppe the Look, if you will.
Buckle up, as I’ll be breakin’ it down for ya in a few parts, because I could write a fourth book on it all once I get going. First up – where I made my MTV Cribs cameo (ha!) – the entryway, living room, and family room…
Shall we take a stroll down memory lane to kick this thang off?! I bought this beauty in 2022 and we immediately got to work. Keep on scrollin’ to explore the before..

Entryway
Once you pull open those gorgeous French front doors, you’re greeted with my entryway. As you can see above, it’s always been a very bright and open space. With these beautiful high ceilings, I wanted to make this area warm and welcoming. Giving it all a new coat of paint worked wonders for this welcome home zone. Share the paint details, you ask?! The creamy white featured here is Swiss Coffee DEW341 by Dunn Edwards.
I kept the original ornate staircase details and deeply-toned wood floors so the space embodies the same vibe that captured my heart from the very first day I saw it. Beyond that, I brought in a mix of new and vintage pieces, some sconces for lighting, and layers upon layers of texture — making this space the perfect balance between moody, inviting, charming, and fresh (if I do say so myself!)

Living Room
Now onto the living room! Look familiar? You may have seen this space in a shoot here and there in recent years. I kept the original wooden beams, archways, and French windows — good bones, remember?! — and updated the fixtures, finishes, and other design details to mood up the room. I chose Lucido Roman Clay by Texston for the walls, hence the super gorg dimension. And painting the wooden windows a warm white complementary to the plaster, I chose Desert Suede DE6206 by Dunn Edwards. All these delicious tones and textures are elegantly illuminated by the Pulpo Black Chandelier, where the vintage charm of its black finish harmonizes beautifully with the sleek silhouette, adding a lil’ grandeur to the space. I do love a statement lighting moment if ya couldn’t tell…
This room is a bit of a how-to on refining those small details to make a big impact. While I didn’t radically renovate the space, it sure does look pretty different from the before pictures above. What say you?! As for the furniture and décor… linked it all for you below. And while we’re talking about furniture, a little story about this vintage hutch nestled in the far corner of the space…
I have such a passion for finding special vintage pieces, whether at Round Top, around Los Angeles, or when I’m fortunate enough to travel around the world. This piece was sourced on a European adventure yearssss ago. When I saw it, I loved it, but didn’t really have a place for it in mind. I knew I couldn’t pass it up, and eventually it made its way into my living room, holding some fam faves like Catan and Rummikub. Moral of the story? If you love a vintage piece, buy it and figure out where it belongs later!

Family Room
Since I do love having ample space to plop my tush (along with the many belonging to my fam), let me welcome you to the family room (AKA a space to hang around the fireplace, snuggle with all three cats at the same time… you get the idea.) This space started out with a clunky shelving unit and a super bright white paint job, so I swapped all that out for a fireplace and some custom built-in shelving units. These updates not only made the room look bigger, but added an elevated and cozy touch that I love so much. Then to brighten up the mood a bit and balance it all out, I gave everything some fresh paint — Dunn Edwards Swiss Coffee DEW341 for the base and walls, and Desert Suede DE6206 for the windows.
I know you’re gonna ask – so yes, this is a working fireplace! We did have to build a chimney, but it was pretty easy because the back of the family room is an exterior wall and I love the cozy vibe that the chimney adds.
And the last (but far from the least important) detail of this space is the hutch with a lil’ bar lining the back wall of the family room and leading into the kitchen. Sofa-side martini anyone?! I removed the built-ins and added another beautiful vintage piece that I sourced somewhere along the way. It’s actually huge, so it’s perfect for housing all my glassware, extra serving dishes, bottles of Tito’s, and other random junk. But seriously, it’s not only super gorgeous, but functions to blend the family room and kitchen together, creating the ultimate hangout zone and hosting space all in one.
