Current Crush: Marble

Marble, marble, marble. If you’ve been following along, marble is a material that Amber uses in every single project. We’re always seeing some of the most gorgeous slabs of honed Calacatta marble in the homes Amber designs — from countertops, backsplash, floor to ceiling showers, sinks — you name it.

Marble comes in alllll different kinds of shapes, sizes, and colors. It can be as soft and subtle or as statement-making as you’d like. From classic white-grays to dramatic blacks to pretty pinks, we don’t discriminate. And our favorite part of marble? It’s a material that can be used in pretty much every single room to help tie a home together. On top of that, every slab is unique and tells its own story. We rounded up some of our favorite pics where marble is the star of the show. Take a peek and get inspired! Which one is your fave?!

Obsessed with Client Bu.. first pic… sooo beautiful.

On another note, would you happen to know the cabinet paint color in Canyon Cool?? Or close to it??
    Cheers,

  • I am so in love with these designs! You are one of me biggest inspirations for starting my business https://www.thepaintpaletteco.com/
I love the deep colors you use. I’m trying to get more of my clients on board with black and deep rich greens! The marble! The brass! I’m drooling. I absolutely love it!!!!

Do you know the maintenance of marble countertops? I’m interested in having them, but nervous about how well they will hold up.

    • I’ve had marble countertops (marbre de Caunes, from a neighboring village to mine in the south of France) for 15 years. We have to be careful about cutting lemons and tomatoes directly on the marble. No problem for us, but it’s harder when we have visitors who don’t see why we are freaking out. A bit like wrinkles on one’s face, the first etchings were hard to stomach, but eventually they became part of the lived experience of the marble, which remains absolutely stunning. Our kitchen is in a “great room,” in the middle of everything, which is why we chose marble for the countertops. Every single person has a jaw-drop reaction when they see them. Totally worth it. I do seal them once a year and try to clean up any acidic spills asap.
