Made in Los Angeles: Celebrating Local Artisans and Entrepreneurs

Shoppe Amber Interiors is committed to sourcing beautiful goods made by talented artisans and small businesses, in an effort to honor their lasting contributions to the community. Amidst the heartbreaking events in Los Angeles this January, the city has come together and offered support in ways that are deeply inspiring. While we collectively begin taking steps towards rebuilding what was lost, we’re first taking a moment to remember what we love most about this city.

Today, we’re highlighting a few local businesses and artisans with pieces available at Shoppe to ask what inspires them about this place we all call home. Read on for more. x

“I’m always so inspired by the abundance of natural beauty in and around LA, but most recently the people and community have been a source of inspiration and support for me. Given everything that happened in January, and the loss of our Shoppe store in the Palisades, the outpouring of love and resilience from the people who make up our beautiful home, is truly inspiring.”

Amber Lewis, Amber Interior Design & Shoppe Amber Interiors

“What I love about LA is the creative energy and the spirit of collaboration. LA has always been a city full of artists, designers, and makers who come here with so much passion for what they do. It’s a place that inspires me daily, from interior design and architecture to the natural beauty that gives LA its unique character. Homecourt was born here, inspired by the same level of artistry and attention to detail that I see all around me. People like Amber Lewis, along with so many other incredible creators and small businesses, continue to shape LA’s culture in such a meaningful way, making it an endless source of inspiration”

Courteney Cox, Homecourt

“The creativity in this city is unmatched and motivates me every single day. Everywhere you look, someone is creating something beautiful, pushing boundaries, or redefining what’s possible. What truly inspires me, though, is the sense of community here—especially among women. I’m constantly surrounded by powerful, empowering women who are not only chasing their own dreams but are also committed to supporting and uplifting each other. That energy, that collective drive to see each other win, is what fuels me to keep going every morning and why I love living in this city.”

Kayla Seah, Not Your Standard

“The thing that inspires me the most about Los Angeles is the energy. It’s something not everyone who visits here experiences — either you feel it or you don’t. Los Angeles isn’t for everyone, but I kind of love that about it. It means that many of us aren’t here by accident. In my experience, there’s something unique about this city that motivates me to be social, creative, and push outside of my comfort zone. It’s something I haven’t experienced anywhere else I’ve lived and I’ll never take it for granted.”

Kayley Vandenberg, She Made Ceramics

“Living in LA means inspiration is everywhere — an art deco detail on a building, wildflowers blooming in Griffith Park, or the pink light at sunrise. It’s a city that rewards slowing down and paying attention, which is something I try to bring into my work.”
