Our Guide to Holiday Decorating

With the holidays right around the corner, we’re sharing some of our favorite ways to decorate for the season. Whether you’re hosting friends and family or just looking to bring some holiday charm into your home, we’re here to help! Speaking of, did you spot Amber’s festive front yard inflatables on the ‘gram?! Read on to explore our guide to holiday decorating and shop some of our faves for the home. xx

Refresh your Front Door Décor

Welcome the holidays into your home by decorating your front door for the season. Hang a fresh wreath (Have you checked out Shoppe’s wreath-making events?!) or dress up a faux wreath with some simple velvet ribbon. We love hanging garland along the door frame or planting winter greenery in pots that line your entryway to spruce up your space.

Make a Merry Mantle

Add a touch of holiday cheer throughout your home by draping fresh garland over your mantle. For a grand yet cozy look, opt for garland that just barely hovers above the floor on either side of the fireplace. We love to mix magnolia branches with cedar tree clippings for a fuller look. Of course, we also include a vintage stocking or two.

Set out Seasonal Florals

Elevate your holiday decor by incorporating seasonal florals. From rich reds and pinks to deep greens and warm whites, fresh blooms bring a vibrant and natural touch to your décor. For this arrangement, we opted for a mix of dahlias and amaranth in deep burgundy tones, adding subtle color and texture.

Looking to add a bit of extra whimsy? Add in some butterfly ranunculus (one of our current faves!)

Get Guest-Ready

Why confine holiday décor to the family room?! Prepare to host friends and family by bringing in festive additions to the guest suite. Try hanging stockings on the wall or adorning the bedside with a cozy candle scent to create a warm, welcoming atmosphere where your guests can feel right at home.

Set a Thoughtful Table

Decorate your home for the holiday season by curating a themed tablescape. For this look, we chose a patterned table runner to add texture, a mossy centerpiece for a natural look, and beautiful candlesticks to cast a warm glow. Whether you’re recreating this look or getting more creative with your styling, opt for a beautiful table that’ll impress every guest.

Find The Perfect Light

Nothing creates a cozy environment quite like ambient lighting! Although the sun sets earlier this time of year, replicate it’s calming light by placing candles on your coffee table, flicking on a new table lamp, or layering candlesticks into your shelf décor. Plus, lighting candles throughout your home not only contributes to that charming holiday atmosphere, but fills your home with the festive scents associated with the season.
